Are Crawling Exercises Good for
Strength Training?
Well, we just got done “bear crawling” at a fitness boot camp class, so,
yes, crawling exercises are a thing. But why?
“Crawling is a terrific source of anti-rotational core stability,
shoulder stability, and functional strength-building,” says Laura Miranda,
D.P.T., M.S.P.T., a NYC-based doctor of physical therapy and personal trainer.
“It helps keep your shoulders healthy longterm, and—because of its
intense neuromuscular and coordination demands—makes your body ‘neurologically
smarter’.”
Plus, it’s fierce cardio and a serious calorie-burner.
“Crawling also promoted cross-lateralization—getting the right brain to
work with the left brain,” says chiropractic clinician Justin Klein, of Got
Your Back Total Health in Washington, D.C.
And there’s not much of a learning curve: “We all know how to crawl
because it’s hardwired into us,” says Klein.
One difference, though: Babies don’t wear kneepads, but we suggest you
do, at least at the start. Or at the very least wear tights or pants.

I Was a Cardio Addict - Here's How My
Body Changed Once I Began Strength Training
Though I started my fitness journey with a fairly balanced combination
of yoga and running, once I caught the "bug," so to speak, I was
fully addicted to the thrill and endorphins of cardio. It started with
SoulCycle - my first love - and spiraled (or spun, more accurately) into
Barry's Bootcamp, more distance running, boxing, and HIIT classes at Equinox. I
was obsessed. And for good reason! I felt great. My body was riding a high, and
I had never been so lean, so ripped. Why would I stop?
As it turns out, you can have too much of a good thing, even in your
early-to-mid 20s, with an otherwise healthy body and joints. I started
experiencing knee issues that ranged from mystery pain to clicking to
full-blown, excruciating, limping-down-the-street tendinitis.

Then I started seeing my personal trainer, Liz Letchford, MS, ATC. She
assessed the issues contributing to my knee troubles and recommended that I
slow it down on the cardio side, pause on longer distance running, and put more
focus on strength training. I heard what she was saying, I agreed that it was
good, but I couldn't quite shake my addiction to cardio. Have you ever felt
like that before? It's a weird spot to be in.
So I added more strength training, but it only served to pack my
schedule with more workout classes. I didn't cut back on anything, just tacked
on more.

It took until sometime last year when my body hit a breaking point.
Physical and psychological stress had peaked, and it manifested in my body in
the form of near constant illness (I'm talking one flu, two weeks at a time,
once a month for several months), mystery infections, severe panic attacks,
chronic depression, and rupturing ovarian cysts. Fun times, y'all. And for
someone who was "doing all the right things" - exercising a ton,
eating right, sleeping well and often, etc. - it didn't make any sense. In
fact, it seemed counterintuitive, and I was more frustrated than ever.
As it turns out, you can have too much of a good thing.
I decided to take an all-out break: I hit the emergency brake and
cleared my schedule for a complete mental and physical detox. It was the first
time I had taken a few weeks off my cardio schedule in years. I eased back in
with long walks (typically on the beach!), tons of low-impact reformer Pilates
(super sculpting and challenging!), and the occasional SoulCycle class (I just
can't shake my love for that place). Once my health turned around - which
happened more quickly than I could've imagined! - I added more forms of
strength exercises, especially at home, using resistance bands, weights, a
kettlebell, and bodyweight.
Related: From Weight Loss to Better Sleep, These Are the Benefits of
Lifting Weights
Not only has my weight remained unchanged, but I feel just as lean with
way less work. I've also remained injury-free thanks to low-impact strength
training and walking. But the greatest effect is one that's body and mind.
Flipping from a cardio-heavy schedule to one focused mostly on low-impact
exercises and strength training has reduced the stress on my body. I feel less
inflamed, I haven't been sick in a year, I don't have to take any anxiety
medication, and even my digestion has improved.
I have friends who can do cardio seven days a week and never bat an eye.
They're in incredible shape, they never get sick, and they have iron joints.
That isn't me - a lesson I learned the hard way. Fortunately, I had enough
sense to tune into my body (eventually!) and figure out the best approach to
turn this ship around. I'm so grateful for that intuition and the people who
helped me get to a happier, healthier place with this formula - I'm much
stronger for it. Pun definitely intended.

~Weapon Switching ~Using Strength pots and Eating ~Edge PKing ~Castle PKing
~Varrok PKing Getting Started So you want to make a melee pure in Runescape?
You must be prepared for long hours training, the risk of losing, and
eventually the glory of victory and free items. Create an account, call it
whatever you want, and go through tutorial island. Choosing Goals There are
only a few baselines for a melee pure in RS2, on Free To Play. Number one is 40
attack. You need attack to wield Rune weapons, but getting over 40 attack will
limit your effectivess. You might be tempted by getting 50 or maybe 60 attack,
maybe thinking about being able to hit on rune, or making your pure members,
but if you end up fighting another pure who has 40 attack, you will surely
lose. Number two is 1 defence. You don't want defence, because it doesn't
increase the amount of damage you can do to another player, or the amount of
damage you can take. It simply increases the chance somebody will hit a zero on
you, which doesn't matter much. Number three is 1 or 31 prayer. Just as you
want 40 attack to be able to access Rune weapons, you want a rounded off prayer
level that will let you access strength boosting prayers that will not overly
affect your combat level. One good way to figure out how much prayer you want
is to calculate your goal melee stats (using combat calcs on tip it, for
example, to make sure you have the correct HP) and then see how much each
prayer level will affect your combat level, and max hit. The prayer level that
gives you the best ratio of combat level to max hit is the best level to have.
The reason you don't want 13 prayer, though it gives a 10% percent bonus after
only 13 pray levels (wheras it takes 31 levels to get a 15% bonus) is because
it runs out very quickly. Magic, strength, and ranged are stats that are left
up to you. There are two ways to train magic (that matter). If you do damage
while you train, you get hp XP. If you use a non damaging spell like curse, you
don't. If you plan to use magic for binding or fire blasts (65+mage needed for
effective fbing, though magic/melee is not covered in this guide), and want to
keep your combat low, you probably want to train it without gaining HP xp.
Also, there is no risk of accidentally gaining def xp with nondamaging spells.
Ranged always gives you HP xp, so decide whether you want to train it, and to
what level. 40 Ranged allows you to wear dragonhide for faster training and is
highly recomended. At some point you may want to use ranged in the wilderness
(76 range needed for steady 13s), but that will not be covered in this guide.
Training 1-20 Attack Your outfit will be full iron (dragonhide chaps and vambs
if you can wear), amulet of power, cape, and SS boots. Fish or buy some food,
and fill your inventory with it. The food should heal at least 8 health. If you
can, make or buy pizza. Go to the cows near the crafting guild, and world hop
untill you find an empty world. Kill cows untill you have 20 attack. 1-40
Strength Same outfit, same inventory. Go to the goblins in the stronghold of
security. The large room just as you enter is perfect. World hop untill you
find a mostly empty world. Fight the level 5 goblins at first, and then begin
fighting the level 11s, and then the 13s. If you bring good food you can stay
here a long time. ~20-40 Attack Same Outfit, same inventory. The goblins in the
SS are still the fastest XP. Some people do everything up to 40/40 on cows, I
have tried this and I found the SS faster. The level 13 goblins are great xp,
there are tons of them (and lvl 11 and 5 goblins) and the edgeville bank is not
far at all. ~40-70 Strength Your outfit will be full iron (dragonhide chaps and
vambs if you can wear), amulet of strength, cape, and SS boots. Fish or buy
some food, and fill your inventory with it. The food should heal at least 12
health. If you can, make or buy anchovy pizza. Bring a strength potion for
every 10 strength levels above 40 you are. So with 50 strength bring one strength
pot, with 60 strength bring two, with 70 bring three. Go to the flesh crawlers
in the stronghold of security, on the second level. They are to the south, and
there is a square room that holds many of them. Put walk on, and simply stand
in the room and they will attack you for around 15 minutes. If you are 50+
strength and are using pots, pot yourself once you are 3-5 levels below your
maximum potted strength. Being constantly potted cuts your training time by
alot. Also, if you have prayer use your strength prayer for a few seconds after
you pot, then turn it off. It should last a long time like this. You can
recharge your pray at the monastary when your going to get more food at edge.
The important thing about Flesh Crawlers that makes them great training is that
they only hit 1. With anchovy pizzas and strength potions you can get amazingly
fast strength levels here. When the flesh crawlers stop attacking you, walk out
into the stronghold untill you can no longer see the room on your minimap, and
then come back, and they will start attacking you again. If you have potted
recently before they stop attacking you, attack them yourself by clicking
untill your potted strength goes down. Don't waste the pot! ~70-99 Strength
This is quite difficult with 40 attack and 1 defence, but it is possible. A
rotation through Guards, Flesh Crawlers, and Elemental Wizards is how I am
working on it. These are the best FTP monsters for upper level strength
training. Use the guards upstairs in the varrok castle or on an empty world at
edgeville, or at the dark knights fortress (an altar is next to alot of guards
here) remember to wear a coif, dragonhide chaps+vambs, and a wizard robe while
fighting the elemental wizards, and remember to pick up the uncut gems flesh
crawlers drop. Good luck! Always use great food (swordies/pizza) and strength
potions to level up faster. Always wear the best armour you can (full iron and
dhide). Once you get used to training you can watch TV or read a book while
gaining those hundreds of thousands of experience points. Take a break to make
strength potions, go pking, or train magic or ranged (see below). ~Magic You
can train magic before or after melee. It doesn't matter. What does matter is
how you train it, and to what level, but you have already decided that. If you
are raising magic with curse/weaken/confuse, then wear full iron+dragonhide
vambs and chaps, and SS boots, and constantly cast the spell on whatever
monster will not hit you back (hard). For example, a monk. Or an enemy over a river
or behind a fence, like zombies in varrok sewer (on a crowded world you can
gain 1-50 magic in a few days if you have enough bodies/waters. It's very easy
to raise magic this way and it does not need a detailed explanation. Make sure
you have both a earth and water staff for when you have to switch spells. Also
bring a little good food, just in case you get a nasty random event or
something, you don't want to lose all your runes. If you are training magic for
HP xp as well as magic xp, then you should wear a wizard robe, hat, a blue
skirt (just looks cool), a magic amulet, and an elemental staff (you should
have all four with you for when you have to switch spells). Attack the
hobgoblins over the river near the crafting guild, with the best spell you can
use. Calculate out how many runes you need ahead of time, and get them. I don't
recommend using damaging spells to train pure magic (without gaining hp), as
its a waste of mind/chaos runes. Also, once you reach magic level 39, the best
way to train magic for HP is crumble undead. The best place to train this is
under the varrok sewers, across the water from the zombies. ~Ranged Craft
yourself ranged armour or buy some. You will want a cowl, leather body, leather
chaps, vambraces, later on a coif and studded chaps (these you will have to
buy), and a little later dragonhide chaps and vambraces (these you have to buy
as well, good prices in varrok world 1 Lowe's store or champs guild). An amulet
of power is the best amulet for training ranged. Kill some rats in the varrok
sewers untill you have around level 10 ranged. Get a few thousand bronze arrows
and train your next 20 or 30 range levels on the goblins in the stronghold of
security. They drop bronze arrows occasionally, and there is a large barrier to
stand behind. If people take your arrows hop to a less populated world. Always
pick up your arrows, since your enemies will contribute to your quiver. Once
you have 30-40 ranged, use iron arrows on the minotaurs in the stronghold of
security. Once you get 40 ranged you will be able to wear the best FTP ranged
outfit, and with iron arrows minotaurs are fast xp. Once again there is a
convient barrier to stand behind. Minotaurs drop iron arrows, so once again
it's worth it to pick up your arrows. You can train at the minotaurs to 50-60
ranged. Lesser Demons, BK fortress guards, and dark/normal wizards are all good
ranged xp and the demons and wiz's are good drops as well. You can use bronze
arrows for the gaurds and wizards, but you can make your money back if you use
good arrows on the lesser demons once your range level is high. ~Prayer The
best way to train prayer effectively is to bury big bones in the Boneyard, in
the wilderness. There are two big bone spawns close together on the west side
of the Boneyard. In between them and around them are small bones. Bring good
food and your best armour, to train effectively on a pure I recommend 60+
strength though if you are wearing full dragon chaps+vambs+full iron and using
swordfish swordfish it's easy with 50 strength as well. Bring a str pot and you
will get some PKs as well. The skeletons who gaurd the big bones stop attacking
after a few waves, so just fight them one at a time. Don't leave the area or
the time will be reset untill they stop attacking. If you are playing on an
unpopulated world at night you can get to 31 pray in one night, as long as you
remember to do restless ghost before you start for an easy head start. Player
Killing ~Using Prayer Prayer is often blasted as not being worth the combat
levels it causes you to gain. However, if you pk near to altars you can
constantly use prayer to your advantage, boosting your strength level, and
avoid fights when you are uncharged. If you are in a non multi combat area of
the wilderness and in a fight, do not use prayer right at the beginning of the
fight. Don't use a strength potion or prayer for the first few hits. When you
are about 10hp higher than where you would usually eat, eat two swordfish and
rapidly click your strenght pot after the second swordfish click ultimate str
pray on, and then click attack on your opponant really fast. It takes practice.
The str pot will not cause you to "Eat" again, it will be part of the
second swordfish motion. You will healed 30 hp, so even if your opponant hits
20 20 you will still have around 25hp. If you are fighting somebody with
defence, or if you just want to push your advantage for a K0, use your attack
boosting prayer. Use it to start a fight off or to finish it, btu not when you
have very low prayer. It's better to turn it off as you eat after a few hits.
Try to develop a rythm of potting and using the attack boosting prayer to push
your advantage when you get a good hit. ~Weapon Switching There are many
weapons in Runescape, most of them can be used in the wilderness. The 2handed
sword was once the most popular weapon in the wilderness, and it is still
widely used by skilled pkers, its the highest hitting weapon in FTP Runescape.
Effectively player killing relies on your abliity to deal damage faster than
enemy can heal. If your opponent is at 20 or below health (or slightly lower
depending on your max R2H hit, you have to feel this out yourself), switch to
your runite claymore. Rapidly attack click on your opponent a few times and
then you can eat quickly, because your opponent will be dead or will have safed
up HP and you have to wait to hit again anyway. But the R2H and the sicmitar
aren't the only good weapons. A rune dagger is extremely cheap and effective
against opponents who use the R2H and scimmy switch, and it's fun to try rune
long swords as well, which hit slightly higher than scimitars and are slightly
slower. A long sword and a R2H works well, as does a short sword and R2H. A
battleaxe works well by itself, it hits surprisingly high and its obvious why
Zamorak supports it has his favored weapon. Some other weapon switching
techniques are luring somebody into not safing by fighting with a low hitting
weapon such as a mace, wcing axe, dagger, etc, then switching to a R2H,
batlteaxe, or longsword. Alot of rangers use the R2H switch from shortbow,
because it has the potential to do alot of damage very fast. ~Using Strength
pots and Eating When you eat is important. Figure out about what your opponents
max hit is, from their combat level. After a few rounds I usually have a good
idea of when to eat. Sometimes you only have to eat one swordfish, sometimes
you have to eat two or three. You need to constantly viligant (lol) constantly
watching your HP and your opponents HP and right clicking on your enemy and
attack clicking them quickly after you eat. Use strength pots right after you
eat, rapidly clicking them after clicking your food. Don't waste rounds of
combat walking around, but if you get fast you can type trash talk to your
opponent as you pk. ~Edge PKing Edgeville is a great place to pk, because it is
not multi combat, and it is close to a bank and an altar. On some worlds there
are many pures around the monastary and low level edgeville wilderness who will
be happy to teach you how to pk, and relieve you of your items if you are not
prepared. World 3 is usually your best bet, though any of the low numbered FTP
worlds will be full if you log on during peak hours. Because edgeville is not a
multi combat zone, and you can run out of the wilderness as you eat, you don't
have to bring teleport runes. Just remember to leave a row of food for running.
Many people die almost outside of the wilderness, because they forgot to eat as
they run or they forget to leave a few food left over. As a rule of thumb, the
deeper you are in the wilderness, the more food you should leave in your
inventory if you have to run from a fight. And you will have to run from
fights. Pures can't compete with defense as easily as they could in RSC, and
many times you will run out of food before the person in addy or rune you are
fighting. ~Castle PKing The castle is "The Dark Warriors Castle", to
the north of Edgeville. To the southwest of the castle is a large coal mine
full of skeletons. To the West is a giant crater . To the north and west the wilderness
stretches out in a large multi combat zone. Directly north of the castle is the
Bandit Village, where you can make pizza or fight bandits. There isn't much to
the East of the castle except dead trees. The castle itself and a few squares
around it to the east are multi-combat zones. The only entrance to the castle
is on the East side. Sometimes people will try to lure you into this zone,
where they may have a team waiting. It's a popular spot for pures of all types.
I recommend fighting people one on one in the single combat area east of the
entrance. Because you are in higher level wilderness, you can end up fighting
people 10-20 levels lower or higher to you around the castle. You have to take
risks to get good kills, but you also need to know when to run. If you are
overwhelmed by a team or a higher level, running south is often enough to make
pursuers give up. If they don't abandon you for easier prey, run into the
skeleton mine and let one of the skeletons attack you instead of a rival pker.
Of course you can run all the way out of the wilderness, but if somebody is
hitting you the whole way you better have at least two rows of food. Personally
I don't bring teleport runes to the castle. It's not hard to escape, and most
people won't waste the run energy chasing you far anyway. If you want to change
worlds, go upstairs in the castle (the closest tower is the southwest one) or
to the crater to the east, then log off. Never log on and off at the front
doors of the castle, for obvious reasons. Sometimes a single pker can beat a
team at the castle. It takes a little practice, but if there is a team about
5-10 levels lower than you around the castle, don't be afraid to take them on.
When two people are attacking you from the same square, their HP bars can cover
eachother up, and they may be too intent on teaming on you to see themselves go
red. Run out of the zone when you eat (you should always have auto-retaliate
off in the wildy...situations like this it will get you killed quickly). Try to
concentrate on one person (again, the basic pking skills are important here,
such as rapid right click attacking). If you can't beat the team, try to take
them on out of the zone. Run out, and turn and attack the weakest/lowest HP
teamer when you are about 1screen away from the multicombat zone. It's harder
to not be lured back in if you are fighting mages/rangers. Sometimes you have
to accept defeat, even with a lower level team. You have to conserve energy and
food to escape, so don't plan on fighting a long time against multiple people
at the castle. ~Varrok Pking This is where people say to start off pking, but
edgeville is a better spot to start your career in ownage. Varrok is
multicombat, and there are often teams. It is located to the north east of the
Varrok palace, north on the path that the church is on. However, on the plus
side, there are often many noobs wandering around. Varrok is the only place in
the wilderness I recommend bringing teleport runes, as if you are in level 4
wilderness and 5+ people all attack you at once, you have to tele or die. Even
spamming on your swordfish won't help you if you get hit by 7 firebolts in 2
seconds. Worldhop alot at varrok. On many worlds there are noobs scattered
around for the pickings, and though 9/10 they will escape, that 1/10 may have a
rune2hander and 300 chaos runes. Varrok is the best and worst of pking, there
are all kinds of pures and normal players, pile jumping happens all the time,
and you have to deal with it. I recommend you try varrok every once in a while
just in case you get lucky, but avoid it in general. There are other spots than
the ones I have named here, such as the Moss Giants, Greater Demons, Rune
Rocks, Chaos Altar, Hill Giants, etc. These spots are better left to the
aspiring high level or hardened and experienced pker, or teams. The moss giants
and rune rocks are good for solo players whereas the greater demons and hill
giants are popular teaming areas. They are worth checking out however, and
pking around these higher leveled areas instead of directly at them may be a
good choice for new pkers. The best advice I can give you for pking in
Runescape is to have fun. Be prepared for your eventual death and having to
work hard to get your stuff back. If you really hate having to play the actual game
to make money, stockpile rune scimitars and strength amulets before heading
out. Good luck.

most people felt these were annoying and nothing more than a bot stopping
measure, but we felt when you came across one it was kind of cool. That is why
we have asked around the rsorder.com office and found out what ones we liked
best.
Which is better a abyssal whip or a
saradomin sword?
Besides metioned below- get whip for
attack, and defend or shared. WHIP HAS NO STRENGTH MOVE you can make up the
lost stats of prayer by a shield... If your training strength then SS its sames
stats besides slight prayer boost and the crush... Abyssal Whip -The
Whip is alot cheaper than the Saradomin Sword and does slightly less damage if
you are using the strength attack for the sara sword. The only advantage with
the Abyssal Whip is that you can use a shield.

Saradomin Sword - The Saradomin
Sword has about the same stats as the whip with exception of the +70 Crush
Bonus. Although, you cannot use a shield with the Saradomin Sword, and the sara
sword has a two-hit special attack while the whip has a fairly useless special.
It is your choice!
If you have the money, the saradomin sword is a better choice, but it
could go either way. If training strength is why your considering a sara sword,
you should try out the zamorakian spear; as fast as a whip and has a very high
stab bonus (+85) with a decent strength bonus (+75) and cost 4.6m

Guide to walkthough Demon Slayer and
win 10% off r3 gold(6.1-6.30)
START LOCATION: Gideon Bede, found in the Church to the east of Varrock
Palace.SUGGESTED:Skills: A suitable combat levelItems: Food, Armour and weapons
for the fights ahead.MONSTERS: 10 level 2 skeletons, 9 Zamorak monks and
Delrith (level 15)NPCS: Spirit of Faith, Spirit of the Body, Spirit of the Mind

1: STARTING OFF
To start the quest, talk to Gideon Bede, located inside the Church to
the east of Varrock Palace. He will tell you that Denath is planning on
summoning Delrith, a demon who tried to destroy Varrock over 150 years ago. He
will ask for your help in retrieving silverlight, an enchanted sword that will
aid in the battle against Delrith.
2: OBTAINING SILVERLIGHT
Once you have completed the trials, return to the central chamber and
speak with the spirits once more. They will congratulate you, then head into
the barrier around Silverlight and disappear. Collect Silverlight from its
altar and head back up into the Church.
3: DESTROYING DELRITH
Head back to Gideon Bede. He will tell you that he has located Denath in
a crypt below the Church of Zamorak, located in the south east of the city.
Head there, and go down the trapdoor inside the church.
Once you have headed down the trapdoor, you will be attacked by two
Zamorak monks. Defeat them and head east. Here you will face three more monks.
Defeat these to continue on through to the next room to the east, where four
more monks will attack. Defeat these to enter the main chamber, where a
cutscene will show Denath summoning Delrith.
Use Sliverlight to kill Delrith. Should Delrith shout "PREPARE TO
BE INCINERATED" make sure to be stood next to Gideon Bede, who will shield
you from most of the damage. Make sure to watch your health also, as he can
still hit very high through the shielding. Once he is defeated you will be
returned to the Church of Saradomin. Speak to Gideon Bede again to complete the
quest.
TIPS, TRICKS & NOTES
This quest was remade on 28 January 2013. If you have completed this
quest before this date, you can complete the new version, but will not be
awarded the quest points again. If you lose Silverlight after completing the

OSRS ‘Kebos Lowland’ Update Brings
New Slayer Creatures, Farm Patches and More
OSRS has added a new content update that includes the addition of the
Kebos Lowlands. Find out everything about the new update including the new
Hespori seeds, Alchemical Hydra and more.
Old School RuneScape's (OSRS) world is expanding as Thursday, Jagex
launched a massive content update which include the Kebos Lowlands. The new
region is the first major release for the game since it became a multi-platform
title last October.
In the Kebos Lowlands, players will not only find the new town of
Brimstone but also a brand new slayer monster – a multi-headed Alchemical hydra
– as well as a new slayer dungeon, a farming guild, two new novice
quests and brand-new rewards. The Kebos Lowlands rank among the more
sizable and diverse new content additions the game has seen in six years,
offering plenty of adventure opportunities for both high and low-level players.
Below we’ve put together an overview of everything announced in the OSRS
Kebos Lowlands update, including details about the new Alchemical Hydra, Farm
Patches and more.

To access the new Kebos Lowlands, players should head to the far west of
Kourend. While in Kebos you can enjoy pastimes such as Aerial Fishing, or take
on a task given by Slayer Master, Konar quo Maten. To help acclimate
players to all the new spaces in the Kebos Lowlands, the devs have put together
a map of the area (see below) and a listing of teleport and transportation
locations.

Kebos Lowland Farming Guild
New Hespori patches and seeds as well as a variety of farming quests
have been added for the Kebos Lowlands. Jagex
If you feel the call of the land, there’s no better place in Gielinor to
begin farming the land than the Kebos Lowlands. The area boars some of the
richest most fertile soil in the region, despite the many Slayer Creatures that
abide there. It’s conduciveness to farming make Kebos Lowlands the perfect
place for a new Farming Guild. The guild is separated into three large
greenhouses with each one acting as a different tier for the guild. The first
tier requires 45 Farming to enter, the second requires 65 and the third
requires 85. Entering the guild requires 60 percent Hosidius Favour, but
it is possible to use stat boosts to enter the guild areas. You can find more
details on the individual tier breakdowns in the official patch notes, here.
Farming Contracts

Starting at Farming Level 45, players can find guildmaster Jane at the
Farming Guild. She can assign players contracts that require them to grow
certain crops within the Farming guild in exchange for seed packs — including
seeds for the newest Hespori patch . There are three tiers of contract
available; Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 which each increase in difficulty.
New Patches
In addition to adding a farming guild, the new update also brings some
new farming patches for players to cultivate. Their details are as follows:
· Farming Demiboss: The Hespori Patch -
Requires 65 Farming - The Hespori patch is a new patch unique to the second
tier of the Farming guild. The only thing that can be grown here is a Hespori
plant.
· How To Find Hespori Seeds : The seeds for
this plant can be randomly found while harvesting other plants (this can be
toggled by talking to an NPC near the patch) or by completing Farming
Contracts.
· Hespori Boss - Once the patch has fully
grown, the Hespori can be fought as a solo demi-boss. Killing the Hespori boss
grants Farming experience. It has a loot table of seeds, including the unique
White lily seed. -The Hespori Boss is the only way for players to gather untradeable
Anima seeds, the Hespori also has a chance of dropping the Bottomless compost
bucket which can hold up to 10,000 compost of any kind . The Hespori is
instanced with an item reclaim service that works identically to other grave
systems like Grotesque Guardians/Zulrah/Vorkath, and only one can be utilised
at any time. This means that any other graves will be wiped on death.
· Bottomless Compost Bucket
· Can be filled with regular, super, or
Ultracompost.
· Can only have one type of compost inside
it at once.
· Each compost used gives the bucket two
charges of that kind of compost. Emptying the bucket will cause all compost
stored within to be lost.
· When used on a patch, the bucket uses
one charge of the current filled compost.
· The bucket can hold a maximum of 10,000
charges.
· The bucket is tradeable when empty.
· The bucket can be stored by a Tool Leprechaun
whose interface has been reworked to be friendlier to use.
· Anima Patch - Requires 76 Farming - The
Anima patch is a new patch unique to the second tier of the Farming guild.
Planting something here has worldwide effects on all of your other patches.
There are three types of seeds that can be planted here, which can only be
obtained through fighting the Hespori and are untradeable.
· Attas Seeds: When planted these grow into an
Attas Plant. This plant provides increased yield to all other patches in the
game.
· Iasor Seeds: When planted these grow into an
Iasor Plant. This plant decreases the disease chance for all other patches in
the game.
· Kronos Seeds: When planted these grow into a
Kronos Plant. This plant increases the speed at which other patches grow by
providing a chance to skip a growth stage. This affects all patches of the same
type at once, keeping them in sync. These plants are active as soon as they are
planted. Over their three and a half day life span, they grow from a seedling
into a withering state. This state indicates that it is one stage away from
death. Once it dies, its effects will cease until re-planted.
· Celastrus Patch - Requires 85 Farming
· The Celastrus patch is a new patch unique to
the third tier of the Farming guild. Once a Celastrus patch has fully grown
(which is 16 hours, the same length required to grow a fruit tree), it can be
harvested for a tradeable resource, Celastrus wood, which can be turned into
Battlestaves with level 40 Fletching.
· The amount of Celastrus wood harvested from a
fully grown Celastrus patch is random, much like the way harvesting herbs
works, with a minimum number of lives to ensure a guaranteed amount each
harvest.
· Redwood Patch - Requires 90 Farming -
The Redwood patch is a new patch unique to the third tier of the Farming guild.
Once fully grown (taking ~106 hours) the Redwood patch turns into a Redwood
tree and can be cut down for logs and Woodcutting experience. The Redwood patch
is relatively close to the bank found within the third tier of the Farming
guild.
· Large Compost Bin - Requires 45 Farming to
access the first tier of the Farming guild - The Large Compost Bin works the
same as any other Compost Bin but has the added benefit of being able to store
double the usual amount of compost.
Existing Patch Improvements
· Dragonfruit Trees - Requires 81 Farming:
Dragonfruit trees can be grown in Fruit tree patches around Gielinor. The seeds
are tradeable and are rarely obtained through nests, boss drops or by
completing Farming Contracts. Dragonfruit trees have the same growth time as
other fruit trees and give the following Farming experience; 140 XP for
planting, 17,335 XP for checking its health and 70 XP for harvesting.
· Harvesting a Dragonfruit Tree - Harvesting a
Dragonfruit tree gives you Dragonfruit, a new food item that can either be
eaten to heal 10 hitpoints or they can be baked into Dragonfruit pies at 73
cooking. Dragonfruit pies heal 10 hitpoints per serving and provide a temporary
Fletching boost of +4. In addition to being a useful stat-boosting food, 10
Dragonfruit can be squeezed into a vial which can be used on the vents in Mount
Karuulm to beome bottled Dragon's breath. This can be used to fully charge the
Dragonfire shield and similar shields instantly.
· White Lily - Requires 58 Farming: White lily
can be grown in flower patches around Gielinor. The seeds are only dropped by
the Hespori, but they are tradable. White lily has the same growth time as
other flowers and gives the following Farming experience; 42 XP for planting
and 250 XP for harvesting. When fully grown, a flower patch with White lily in
it will protect all types of crops in adjacent allotment patches.
· Potato Catci - Requires 64 Farming: Potato
cacti can be grown in cactus patches around Gielinor. The seeds are tradeable
and are rarely obtained through nests or by completing Farming Contracts.
Potato cacti take 70 minutes to fully grow and give the following Farming
experience; 68 XP for planting and 68 XP for harvesting. With the introduction
of Potato cacti seeds, Potato cacti have been removed from the Nightmare Zone
reward shop.
· Snape Grass - Required 71 Farming - Snape
grass can be grown in allotment patches around Gielinor. The seeds are
tradeable and are rarely obtained through nests or by completing Farming
Contracts. Snape grass takes 70 minutes to fully grow and gives the following
Farming experience; 82 XP for planting and 82 XP for harvesting. With the
introduction of Snape grass seeds, Snape grass would be removed from the
Nightmare Zone reward shop.
Mount Karuulum: New Slayer Master and
Creatures
Konar is the new Slayer Master in OSRS Keobs Lowlands Jagex
Atop Mount Karuulm you'll find Konar quo Maten, the newest Slayer
Master. Konar is accessible to all players at a 75 or above combat level.
There is also a bank with a deposit box and poll booth, a furnace, and a
weapon shop that sells various spears, warhammers and battleaxes. Konar is a
little different when compared to your usual Slayer Master in that the tasks
she assigns require you to kill monsters in a specific area Going out of your
way to complete tasks from Konar has its benefits. Each task completed from
Konar rewards the player with 18 Slayer reward points and all kills on task from
this master have a chance of hitting a new global loot table. The chance of
hitting this loot table is scaled by the combat level of the NPC you're
fighting, and the loot is granted in addition to any normal drop you would
receive. You can find out more about the rewards on the Konar Drop Table,
here.
Alchemical Dragon and Other New Slayer Creatures
With a new Slayer Master comes new Slayer creatures, and a new area to
kill them! North of the Farming Guild lies the sulphur volcano of Mount
Karuulm, home to a brand-new Slayer dungeon. Here is a rundown of all the new
Slyer creatures found in the Kebos Lowlands
· Sulphur Lizard - Requires 44 Slayer - Sulphur
Lizards, located within the Mount Karuulm Slayer Dungeon, are assigned by
Mazchna, Vannaka and Chaeldar. They have no noteworthy mechanics or drops, and
attack with melee only. They are intended to add some additional variety to the
low-level Slayer bracket. Slayer Masters that assign Desert Lizards would
instead assign "Lizards," allowing players to kill either Desert
or Sulphur Lizards to complete their task. Unlike Lizards in the desert, these
won't require Ice coolers to kill.
· Wyrm - Requires 62 Slayer - Wyrms,
located within the Mount Karuulm Slayer Dungeon, are assigned by Duradel,
Nieve, Chaeldar and Konar quo Maten. Wyrms have a very rare chance to drop the
Dragon sword and Dragon harpoon, previously found within the Chambers of Xeric.
Both the Dragon sword and Dragon harpoon have been removed from the Chambers of
Xeric loot table.
· Drake - Requires 84 Slayer - Drakes, located
within the Mount Karuulm Slayer Dungeon, are assigned by Duradel, Nieve and
Konar quo Maten. They do not fly and use both melee and ranged attacks. Drakes
have a chance to drop their claws and teeth, both of which are attachments for
boots.
· A Drake claw can be combined with Boots of
stone to create the tradeable Boots of Brimstone . This process cannot be
undone. Boots of Brimstone require 70 Defence, 70 Magic, 70 Ranged and 44
Slayer to equip.
· A Drake tooth can be combined with Holy
sandals to create the tradeable Devout boots. This process cannot be undone. Devout
boots require 60 Prayer to equip and are considered an item of Saradomin inside
the God Wars Dungeon.
· Hydra - Requires 95 Slayer - Hydras,
located within the Mount Karuulm Slayer Dungeon, are assigned exclusively by
Konar quo Maten. They use both ranged and magic attacks. Hydras have a chance
to drop three untradeable ring pieces and a Hydra tail which is an attachment
for the Dragonbone necklace.
· When the Eye of the hydra, Fang of the hydra
and Heart of the hydra are combined, these pieces form the tradeable Brimstone
ring. The ring has no requirements to equip and has a 1/4 chance with each
spell cast to ignore 10 percent of your opponent's total Magic Defence.
· When a Hydra tail is combined with a
Dragonbone necklace and a Bonecrusher, it forms the untradeable Bonecrusher
necklace. The necklace requires 80 Prayer to equip and gives the effect of both
the Bonecrusher and the Dragonbone necklace (the necklace must be equipped for
9 seconds to gain the effect of the Dragonbone necklace). The necklace is
charged with Ecto-tokens as per the Bonecrusher and maintains the same Prayer
restoration rate as the Dragonbone necklace. The effect of the Bonecrusher also
applies whilst the Bonecrusher necklace is in your inventory. The process of
combining these items is reversible.
· Alchemical Hydra - Requires 95 Slayer - The
Alchemical Hydra, located within the Mount Karuulm Slayer Dungeon, is a new
solo Slayer boss assigned exclusively by Konar quo Maten. It can only be fought
as part of a Hydra Slayer task or a Boss task (of which only Konar quo Maten
will be able to assign). The Alchemical Hydra will not be an easy opponent, and
as such you will be well rewarded if you manage to defeat it. It has a chance
to drop the Hydra leather which is used to make Ferocious gloves , a Hydra claw
which is an attachment for the Zamorak hasta, all Hydra unique drops and of
course... a pet Alchemical Hydra.
· Ferocious gloves are a new untradeable pair
of gloves with a focus on offensive melee, requiring 80 Defence to equip. The
Hydra leather used to make them is tradeable and must be taken to the Lithkren
dungeon (requiring Dragon Slayer II) to be made into the gloves.
· When a Hydra claw is combined with a
Zamorakian hasta , it forms the tradeable Dragon hunter Lance. This process
cannot be undone. The lance requires 70 Attack to equip and has the added
effect of 20 percent increased Accuracy and Damage against Dragon
creatures, though it loses its defensive capabilities during its creation.
